SPRED
Corpus Christi is interested in expanding its SPRED program. The Special Religious Development (SPRED) Program serves children with developmental disabilities such as Down Syndrome and Autism. Participants do not use a textbook and the ability to read is not necessary. During each session, the children, along with volunteers, participate in catechesis and joyful activities that include crafts, music, and spiritual lessons with connections to the Mass, scripture, and daily life. Sacramental instruction is also provided and is based on readiness of the individual.
Students ages 6-11 and older with Special Needs are welcome to join this group if a typical Religious Education class will not serve their needs.
SPRED will meet Monday afternoon from 4pm to 5pm at the Corpus Christi Parish Office.
We will meet twice a month beginning in late September. Start date TBD.
