Sixth Sunday of Easter

Let us pray to the Lord:

That all the members of the Church, especially those who are disheartened or afraid, will receive the peace of the Holy Spirit that Jesus promises to his disciples.

That nations and peoples who carry long-standing resentment and animosity will seek a life-giving future for all.

That those impacted by the oil spill in the gulf of Mexico will find, even in the face of their losses, the solutions that will restore life and livelihoods along their shores.

That those who have suffered violence, especially women and children, will be led to freedom from prisons of abuse and neglect.

That we will rejoice in the presence of the Holy Spirit, who comes to give us the confidence that we will never be abandoned.

That all mothers will receive the blessings of joy, faith and wisdom.

That mothers who have lost children will have the faith and assistance of mary, the mother of Jesus, and the support of persons who love them in their grieving.

That those who suffer mental illness, and all who are sick, will know true peace and healing in Christ, and in the human care they receive.

That those who have died will experience the eternal joy of angels and saints, especially mothers who have gone before us.
